Softball Recap: 16 Straight Home Wins for Jackson

Jackson had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Arlington Eagles. With that victory, the Timberwolves brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Alana Banog (2028) was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kiana Holden (2025), who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Elena Eigner (2025) was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Jackson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only managed six hits.

Jackson's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Arlington, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Lake Stevens on the 3rd. As for Arlington, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Monroe on the 31st.
