Bedford North Lawrence skates past Columbus East with ease

The Bedford North Lawrence Stars can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 71-35 win over Columbus East. Given Bedford North Lawrence's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Columbus East is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bedford North Lawrence had a senior duo take command as Chloe Spreen scored 22 points along with eight assists and six rebounds and Madisyn Bailey scored 22 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Spreen posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Miley Sherrill, who scored 14 points along with three steals.

Columbus East lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jenna Guse, who scored ten points. Messiah Trapp was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Columbus East struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bedford North Lawrence posted 19 assists.

Bedford North Lawrence's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Columbus East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bedford North Lawrence will take on Floyd Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Albany at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
