Basketball Recap: Sahuaro Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Sahuaro extended their road winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Cisco Llamas. The Sahuaro Cougars secured a 74-70 W over the Rincon/University Rangers on Tuesday thanks in part to Llamas, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Rincon/University's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jonah (Sam) O'Dowd, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 boards, and Abel Munoz McDaniels, who went 10 of 18 en route to 25 points. With that strong performance, O'Dowd is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Jorge Allende Baez, who posted ten points.

Sahuaro's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Rincon/University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Sahuaro has already played their next match, a 66-62 victory against Walden Grove on the 17th. As for Rincon/University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-79 loss against Maryvale on the 17th.
