Softball Preview: Williamston Hornets vs. Eastern Quakers
The Williamston Hornets will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Eastern Quakers at 4:00 p.m. Williamston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
Williamston is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Tuesday, just like they did against DeWitt (and have done all season long). Jaiden Griffith made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Griffith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Griffith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Anna Judit was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Thea Fortin, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI.
Meanwhile, Eastern is still looking for their season's first win. They lost 17-1 to Fowlerville last Monday.
