Softball Recap: Fountain Lake's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Fountain Lake's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the ESTEM Mets get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The contest marked the Cobras' most dominant win of the season.

Abby Morgan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Morgan was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one triple while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kendall Gunnoe and Kinsley Burks did most of the damage at the plate: Gunnoe went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Burks went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Gunnoe a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Burden, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Fountain Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fountain Lake's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for ESTEM, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fountain Lake will face off against Maumelle Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for ESTEM, they will take on Bauxite at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
