Basketball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

Southwestern's tournament run continued when they took on Althoff Catholic on Tuesday. The Piasa Birds were dealt a 70-31 defeat at the hands of the Crusaders.

Southwestern's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trenton Brackett, who posted ten points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Cason Robinson, who put up eight points.

Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Southwestern has already played their next matchup, a 53-38 loss against Freeburg on the 28th. As for Althoff Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-52 victory against Carbondale on the 26th.
