Basketball Recap: Boerne-Champion Takes a Loss

Boerne-Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Braunfels Unicorns. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-43 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Boerne-Champion still got an impressive performance from Logan Scott, who went 10 for 16 en route to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Scott a new career-high in points. Gavin Peck was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Boerne-Champion's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for New Braunfels, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 21-11 record this season.

Boerne-Champion will be playing in front of their home fans against Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wagner will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Boerne-Champion surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Braunfels, they will head out on the road to challenge Alamo Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Braunfels knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Alamo Heights likes a good challenge.
