Willow Glen got themselves on the board against Piedmont Hills on Friday, but Piedmont Hills never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pirates 45-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their ten-point performance the contest before.

Willow Glen was led to victory by Aiden Akery and Lucas Favela. Akery rushed for 73 yards and three scores, while Favela gained 129 total yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Akery has posted since back in October of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Willow Glen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piedmont Hills only rushed for 65 rushing yards.

Willow Glen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of EJ Salas and Chase Azus.

Willow Glen's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Piedmont Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willow Glen will square off against Christopher at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Piedmont Hills, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Branham at 7:15 p.m. on the 26th.
