Johnson County Central put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Aquinas Monarchs.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-17.
Ashley Beethe paced Johnson County Central's offense, picking up 15 kills. Beethe got some help from Riley Wellensiek and her 30 assists. Wellensiek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.
Marissa Miratsky and Sarah Coufal certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Miratsky had ten digs and one assist, while Coufal had seven digs. Jacqueline Comte also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Johnson County Central's victory bumped their record up to 29-0. As for Aquinas, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 15 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-26 record this season.
