Football Game Preview: Strath Haven Panthers vs. Unionville Longhorns

The Strath Haven Panthers will welcome the Unionville Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Strath Haven's defense has only allowed 6.5 points per game this season, so Unionville's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Strath Haven is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Upper Moreland 35-21. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Strath Haven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yousif Ali, who rushed for 73 yards and two scores on only nine carries. Another rusher making a difference was Ryan Mudrick, who rushed for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Strath Haven didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Upper Moreland to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Landon Barlow and Greyson Lafrance, who each logged one passes deflected. Strath Haven wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 16.7%.

Meanwhile, Unionville entered their tilt with Wissahickon on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 27-14.

Strath Haven better keep an eye on Nihal Batta. He was instrumental in Unionville's win, rushing for 75 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 144 yards and one touchdown.

Strath Haven's record is now 9-2. As for Unionville, their record now sits at 7-4.
