Baseball Recap: Stillwater Has No Trouble Against East Ridge

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Stillwater and East Ridge, and Stillwater kept the tradition alive. The Ponies put the hurt on the Raptors with a sharp 12-2 win on Monday. Considering the Ponies have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Henry Mestad and Jack Runk did most of the damage at the plate: Mestad got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Runk went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave Runk a new career-high. Joe Fredkove was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Stillwater hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.

Stillwater's record now sits at 11-3. As for East Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
