The Muenster Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Lindsay Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lindsay will be up against a hot Muenster team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Muenster was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Chico on Tuesday.
The team relied heavily on Lilly Johnson, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Emma Walterscheid also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Johnson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Muenster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lindsay made easy work of Era on Tuesday and carried off a 20-5 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Reagan Swaney was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Hielckert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Muenster pushed their record up to 11-7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lindsay, their record now sits at 11-7.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Muenster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Lindsay struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Muenster skirted past Lindsay 11-9 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will Muenster repeat their success, or does Lindsay has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
