Cary Academy found their leader in sophomore Gabrielle Young, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Young a new career-high in blocks (three). Avni Lutz was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Cary Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for South Wake, their win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1.
