Pittsfield owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Franklin Tornadoes, sneaking past 1-0. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

Not much got past Alex Penney, who gave up just a hit and racked up 18 Ks to keep Franklin off the board. Penney has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Pittsfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Pittsfield and bumps their season record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Franklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pittsfield is set to take on their familiar foe Sunapee at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Lakers have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Franklin will face off against rival Nute at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
