The Cimarron Rams will head out to  square off against the Magdalena Steers  at 2:00  p.m.  on Monday. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cimarron has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Magdalena will arrive with nine straight  wins.
On Friday, Cimarron came up short against Grady  and fell  12-7.

 Andrew Gonzales was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. Cimarron is 5-2 when  Gonzales posts two or  more  runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  Orion Ledoux was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.  Carlos Coca also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Meanwhile, Magdalena made easy work of Logan  on Friday and carried off  a  15-2 victory. The Steers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six  runs or more this season.
Like Cimarron, Magdalena also got a great game from a two-way player:  Shane Montoya. On the mound, he  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   two  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Montoya has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 In other batting news, Magdalena got a  massive  performance out of  Ayden Herschbach, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Joseph Zamora, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs and three  RBI.
 Magdalena was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .593. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .400 or higher in nine consecutive  matchups.
 Magdalena's win was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 12-3. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cimarron, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
 Monday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cimarron hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Magdalena struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .383. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
