Softball Recap: Delavan Panthers vs. Heyworth Hornets
Delavan made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Heyworth, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 back in March.

Lainey Klokkenga was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Kara Lowry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Delavan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Heyworth, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-10 record.
