Basketball Recap: California Comes Up Short

California was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 96-37 loss at the hands of the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Centurions are ranked 51st).

California's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Greensburg Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

California will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frazier at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Greensburg Central Catholic and Hempfield Area will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
