Volleyball Game Preview: American Eagles vs. Irvington Vikings

American hasn't had much luck against Irvington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, American didn't have quite enough to beat Kennedy and fell 3-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

American started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 11-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Irvington didn't have quite enough to beat Mission San Jose last Thursday and fell 3-2.

Irvington couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Mission San Jose a tough time in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 28-30, 15-12.

Irvington's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-11. As for American, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

American couldn't quite get it done against Irvington in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
