Volleyball Recap: Braddock Bulldogs vs. Mourning Sharks
Braddock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mourning Sharks. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.
Braddock might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Mourning: every set was decided by exactly two points. The final score came out to 25-23, 26-24.
Leading Mourning to victory were Conner Vega and Matthew Figueroa. Vega had 18 digs, while Figueroa had 16 digs and one assist. Figueroa is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season.
Braddock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mourning, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Coincidentally, Braddock and Mourning will both be playing JC Bermudez Doral the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will host the Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Sharks will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
