Softball Recap: Riverview Sarasota Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Riverview Sarasota couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Sumner Stingrays by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Allison Cole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 22 consecutive appearances.

Riverview Sarasota's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Sumner, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10.

As of now, neither Riverview Sarasota nor the Stingrays have any future games scheduled.
