 Ellsworth has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  face off against the Somerset Spartans at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Ellsworth: 2.5, Somerset: 2.4) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 Ellsworth fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Somerset  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of  6-5.
  Aliza Acker spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Aaliyah Huppert was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Josie Pechacek, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Ellsworth's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Somerset, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season.
