League recap: MORENO dominating on the mound for Montgomery

South Bay league recap: 3/20/13

Alejandro Moreno was the top pitcher in South Bay this week, leading Montgomery. He picked up one win and nine strikeouts.

Castle Park outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its four total wins led the league. The Trojans beat Morse 5-1, Kearny 11-0, Olympian 14-1 and Brawley 4-2.

Southwest's pitchers were the toughest in the league on opposing hitters this week, giving up only three hits. For the entire year, the Raiders have given up only six base hits in nine games.

Eight batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Victor Ramirez, who hit .750 this week (6-for-8).



The Aztecs' MORENO struck out nine Coronado hitters en route to a 3-2 victory on March 13. He gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings of work.
