There's no place like home for Bureau Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Galva Wildcats on Saturday. Considering the Storm have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Carly Reglin, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Galva off the board. Reglin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ali Carrington and Sadie Bailey did most of the damage at the plate: Carrington went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Bailey went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Carrington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadyn Haage, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Bureau Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galva only posted a batting average of .130.
With the victory, Bureau Valley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-15. As for Galva, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
