Baseball Recap: Bluffton's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Bluffton's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Genoa Area Comets 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Quinn Eachus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Bluffton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Speicher, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Jake Weaver, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Bluffton's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Genoa Area, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Bluffton will host McComb at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genoa Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Rossford at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Comets are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
