Softball Game Preview: Gill St. Bernard's Knights vs. Mount St. Mary Academy Lions

For the second straight game, Gill St. Bernard will face off against Mount St. Mary Academy. The Knights will take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gill St. Bernard's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Gill St. Bernard's needed a bit of extra time to put away Mount St. Mary Academy. They had just enough and edged out the Lions 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Emily Titsworth spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Ella Martinelli and Sammi Kalinak did most of the damage at the plate: Martinelli scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Kalinak scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Martinelli also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Mount St. Mary Academy's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Gill St. Bernard's, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1.
