Soccer Game Preview: Grand Oaks vs. Caney Creek

The Grand Oaks Grizzlies will head out on the road to square off against the Caney Creek Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Caney Creek better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Grand Oaks' game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Grand Oaks really gets things going. The Grizzlies never let Willis get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Grand Oaks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Caney Creek). Everything went their way against Oak Ridge on Tuesday as they made off with an 8-2 win. The victory continues a trend for Caney Creek in their matchups with Oak Ridge: they've now won eight in a row.

Caney Creek's win bumped their record up to 6-9-5. As for Grand Oaks, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3-3.

Everything went Grand Oaks' way against Caney Creek in their previous matchup back in February, as Grand Oaks made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
