Basketball Recap: Rowan Kennedy and Jacob Radcliffe Secure Win for Rocky River

There's no place like home for Rocky River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Valley Forge Patriots with a sharp 68-47 win on Wednesday. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Patriots are ranked 678th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rocky River was led to victory by Jacob Radcliffe and Rowan Kennedy. Radcliffe went 8 of 16 en route to 21 points and four steals, while Kennedy went 6 for 8 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Kennedy a new career-high in assists (four). Henry Ward also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Rocky River was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Rocky River's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Valley Forge, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky River will host Bay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rocky River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Valley Forge has already played their next matchup (against Westlake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
