Softball Game Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. Brookfield Warriors

Mineral Ridge is 0-3 against Brookfield since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Mineral Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.

Mineral Ridge gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Western Reserve 19-9. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Randi Blackann was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Rigley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Mineral Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Brookfield came up short against Southeast on Monday, falling 14-7. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mineral Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Brookfield, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
