Basketball Recap: Meadville Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Meadville won the last time they faced Novinger, and Walker Norris did his part to make sure it happened again. The Meadville Eagles enjoyed a cozy 64-49 win over the Novinger Wildcats on Friday thanks in part to Norris, who went 8 of 12 en route to 22 points and five steals. He has become a key player for Meadville: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 8-9 otherwise.

The team also got some help courtesy of Quentyn Smith, who posted seven points in addition to ten boards and six assists. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Meadville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Novinger, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadville will face off against Bucklin-Macon County at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. One thing working in Meadville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. Novinger will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Marion County at 7:30 p.m. on February 17th.
