The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cubs apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2022.

  Mitchell Stivers was cooking despite his team's loss,   getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with three  stolen bases and two  runs. He has been hot for a while, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last 15 times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Austin Hornung, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
As for Simla, the  win was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight  runs or more this season.
On Simla's side,  Wyatt Stanko was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Stanko was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with four  runs and two  stolen bases. Simla is undefeated when  Stanko posts two or  more  runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  T.J. Eurich and  Treven Kocerha did most of the damage at the plate:  Eurich  went 3-for-4 with five  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI, while  Kocerha  went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and two  runs. Eurich is becoming a predictor of Simla's success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).  Taylor Kissam also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
 Looking ahead, Otis will host Flatirons Academy  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bison have averaged an impressive 10.8  runs per game this season. As for Simla, they will venture away from home to  square off against Calhan  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.93  runs per game on average), something the Cubs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
