Softball Recap: West Milford Comes Up Short

West Milford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the DePaul Catholic Spartans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Highlanders have suffered against the Spartans since April 3, 2017.

West Milford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassy Rubinsky, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

West Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for DePaul Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

West Milford will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. DePaul Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
