The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans will face off against the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Veritas Collegiate Academy's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Veritas Collegiate Academy didn't have too much trouble with Cristo Rey as they won 79-60. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Royals are ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue came up short against Evergreen Christian two weeks ago and fell 67-54.

Veritas Collegiate Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points over those games. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
