Softball Recap: South Eugene Takes a Loss

South Eugene had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-13 to make it eight. They lost 13-0 to the North Medford Black Tornado. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Black Tornado this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Tuesday.

As for North Medford, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.

For North Medford's part, Rebecca Tuivana was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Tuivana a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Braxton, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Medford beat South Eugene by a score of 20-0 later that day.
