Volleyball Game Preview: Doherty Memorial Highlanders vs. St. Paul Knights

The Doherty Memorial Highlanders are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Paul Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Doherty Memorial is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Oxford just ended the team's 11-match winning streak on Monday. They fell 3-1 to the Pirates. While the Highlanders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-16 in the first set.

Doherty Memorial started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-22.

Meanwhile, St. Paul lost 3-0 to Bay Path RVT on Thursday.

St. Paul's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Doherty Memorial, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 12-2.

Doherty Memorial came up short against St. Paul in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Highlanders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
