Soccer Game Preview: Marquez vs. Torres

Marquez has gone 8-2 against Torres recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Gladiators are taking a road trip to take on the Toros at 4:00 p.m. Marquez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

Marquez will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Elizabeth on Monday. The Gladiators blew past the Bulldogs 4-0. The win continues a trend for Marquez in their matchups with Elizabeth: they've now won eight in a row.

Marquez hit Elizabeth with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ruben Rodriguez (2), Anthony Tamayo, and Nery Ausencio.

Meanwhile, Torres sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Maywood Academy on Monday. That's two games straight that Torres have won by just one goal.

Marquez's win bumped their record up to 7-3-2. As for Torres, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Marquez was able to grind out a solid victory over Torres in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, winning 2-0. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Toros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
