Football Recap: Chattooga Takes a Loss

Chattooga played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Gordon Lee Trojans and fell 48-21. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Trojans are ranked 161st).

When it comes to explaining why Chattooga lost, don't look at Aiden Fletcher. Despite the final result, he rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Fletcher is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game.

Gordon Lee can attribute much of their success to Dustin Day, who threw for 140 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. What's more, Day racked up 158.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Another big playmaker for Gordon Lee was Landon Norton, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Chattooga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gordon Lee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Chattooga didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-10 victory against Fannin County on the 3rd.
