Basketball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

If Madison was riding high fresh off their 82-45 takedown of Lisbon last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Madison Bulldogs fell 54-42 to the Spruce Mountain Phoenix on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now lost nine in a row.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Spruce Mountain, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will face off against Old Orchard Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Old Orchard Beach will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Madison surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spruce Mountain, they will take on Mountain Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
