Soccer Recap: Key West Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Coral Shores

Key West's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the Coral Shores Hurricanes onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Conchs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 123rd).

Key West's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three contests. As for Coral Shores, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Coincidentally, Key West and Coral Shores will both be playing Marathon the next time they take the pitch. Key West will head out to face Marathon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Coral Shores will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
