Preview: Briarwood Academy vs. Gatewood
Briarwood Academy will take on Gatewood in each of the teams' third playoff contest on Friday. Both teams have allowed few points on average (Briarwood Academy 14.31, Gatewood 13.08), so any points scored will be well earned.
Briarwood Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game with Edmund Burke Academy last Friday, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win. Dax Reese went supernova for the Buccaneers as he picked up 204 yards on the ground on 30 carries and threw two passing touchdowns. Reese has now produced at least one touchdown in the past 13 games.
Meanwhile, Gatewood earned some more postseason success in their matchup last week. They strolled past Brentwood with points to spare, taking the game 35-20.
