Baseball Recap: Sacopee Valley Has No Trouble Against Traip

Sacopee Valley had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-3 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Traip Rangers with a sharp 14-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-7 back in April.

Chase Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Bradly Metcalf was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Donovan Harvey, who earned one RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.

As for Traip, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 11 runs.

On Traip's side, Max Jordan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Jordan has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Downs, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Sacopee Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Traip: the pair will be back at it again later today.
