Volleyball Recap: St. Pius X Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Drew Rupnow and Alaina Ortiz

If St. Pius X was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Savannah on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Notre Dame de Sion Storm by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Storm earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Despite the loss, St. Pius X had strong showings from Alaina Ortiz, who had 14 digs, and Drew Rupnow, who had nine digs and one assist.

Among those leading the charge was Addison Mcneive, who had 15 digs and two aces.

St. Pius X now has a losing record of 14-15-1. As for Notre Dame de Sion, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-21 record this season.

St. Pius X has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against North Kansas City on the 18th. As for Notre Dame de Sion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Oak Park on the 18th.
