Basketball Game Preview: Moriah Vikings vs. Northeastern Clinton Cougars

Moriah has gone 10-0 against Northeastern Clinton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Moriah Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Northeastern Clinton Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Moriah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Northeastern Clinton likes a good challenge.

Moriah saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 78-71 to Schenectady. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Moriah got top-tier performance from Cooper Allen, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards. Allen's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Pelkey, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Northeastern Clinton might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Plattsburgh an easy 56-32 win. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Northeastern Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Moriah, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Moriah strolled past Northeastern Clinton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 85-66. Will Moriah repeat their success, or does Northeastern Clinton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
