Softball Game Preview: Ipswich Tigers vs. Manchester Essex Hornets

For the second straight game, Ipswich will face off against Manchester Essex. The Tigers will square off against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ipswich will bounce into Friday's game after beating Manchester Essex, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Hornets on Thursday.

Ipswich let Jada Holman and Julia Hubbard run wild. Holman went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Hubbard went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Hubbard has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Holman, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ipswich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Manchester Essex dropped their record down to 7-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Ipswich, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
