Volleyball Recap: Eureka Wildcats vs. Lafayette Lancers
Eureka lost against Lafayette back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21.
Sutton Reed paced Eureka's offense, picking up 16 kills. Reed got some help from Jett Wilken and his 27 assists. Jack McMillen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Leading Lafayette to victory were Nate Kraemer and Alex Behl. Kraemer had six digs and three aces, while Behl had five digs and four aces. Those six digs gave Kraemer a new career-high.
Having lost for the first time this season, Eureka fell to 5-1. As for Lafayette, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Coming up, Eureka will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Ladue Horton Watkins at 5:45 p.m. As for Lafayette, they will venture away from home to square off against Howell Central at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
