Basketball Recap: Southwest Onslow Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Southwest Onslow can now relate to. They lost to the Northwood Chargers at home by a 59-44 margin on Friday. The Stallions' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Cam Fowler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northwood, shooting 52% from the field on his way to 28 points and five boards. Fowler's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Hayes Burleson, who went 7-for-9 to rack up 14 points and three steals.

Southwest Onslow's defeat dropped their record down to 24-4. As for Northwood, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-2.

Southwest Onslow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwood, they will face off against West Bladen at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Bladen will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Northwood surely won't give up without a fight.
