League recap: Buena takes down Ocean City in 1 vs. 2 battle

The league's top two teams in the standings locked horns this week, as Buena took home an 11-2 victory over Ocean City on Tuesday. Buena leads Cape/Atlantic - National with an 11-0 record, and has an overall record of 21-7.

St. Joseph (11-7, 4-5) has won five games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. In the past week, the Wildcats won another two games, including a 7-6 victory over Ocean City.

Bridgeton boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Bulldogs' pitchers have been charged with only 300 hits and have struck out 76 batters. Eymar Huerta is tops on the staff with 22 Ks.

Oliver Ojeda Celaya was an RBI machine on Thursday, as he knocked in four runs during Cedar Creek's 10-0 win over Bridgeton.
