Baseball Recap: Central Texas Christian Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Central Texas Christian scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Bartlett Bulldogs, falling 26-15. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in February.

Paul Barge and Ike Klimchuck stepped up to the plate in a big way. Barge went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Klimchuck went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Klimchuck a new career-high.

Central Texas Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bartlett, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Central Texas Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Thorndale will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Bartlett surely won't give up without a fight.
