Baseball Game Preview: Brunswick School Bruins vs. Hamden Hall Country Day Hornets

For the second straight game, Brunswick School will face off against Hamden Hall Country Day. The Bruins will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. Brunswick School will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Brunswick School proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Hamden Hall Country Day 4-3. The game was the first time the Bruins have beaten the Hornets on their field since May 18, 2023.

Teddy Bancroft tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Brunswick School's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyrus Ostrowski, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Ostrowski has posted since back in April. Owen Bartoszek also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hamden Hall Country Day dropped their record down to 11-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.75 runs. As for Brunswick School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
