Recap: Oakridge Owls vs. Kingdom Collegiate Academy
After flying high against the First Baptist Saints last Tuesday, the Oakridge Owls came back down to earth. Oakridge fell to Kingdom Collegiate Academy 47-43. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Oakridge came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Kingdom Collegiate Academy is ranked 713th).
Several Owls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stone Thiel, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds. Thiel has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Rylan Williams was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Oakridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Kingdom Collegiate Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-3.
Oakridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Worth THESA at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Kingdom Collegiate Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Prestonwood Christian North at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
