Basketball Recap: Westview Comes Up Short

The Westview Wolverines ended up a good deal behind the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks on Monday and lost 81-66.

Despite the loss, Westview saw an underclassman step up: freshman EJ Swindle posted 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Swindle has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah Wilborn, who had seven points.

Lincoln Southwest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Uzziah Sanders, who shot 79% from the field en route to 30 points and three steals. Makkiah Sanders was another key player, going 10-for-15 to rack up 24 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

Westview dropped their record down to 15-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lincoln Southwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-4.

As of now, neither Westview nor the Silver Hawks have any future games scheduled.
